What is the real price of the visa in the DRC?

There is false information circulating by word of mouth or on the internet saying that the Congolese visa is the most expensive one in Africa and that French, American and other foreigners spend a lot of money to get it. This is a false accusation.

First of all, it is important to know that there is always an official way to get visas. In the DRC, it is the General Directorate of Migration that takes care of it. If you need a visa before  the DRC, regardless of the reason and duration of your trip, you must follow the normal procedures.

The country has several types of visas, including the travel visa, which is more widely used. To obtain it, you must contact the embassy in your country, either online through specialized agencies or at the border.

There are categories of multiple-entry and single-entry visas that are paid on a monthly basis.

For 1 month, a single entry/exit visa costs $83 and a $100 administration fee and a multiple entry/exit visa costs $250. A 2-month visa with single entry is purchased at $217 and the same visa with multiple entry is purchased at $300 including the administration fee. Need more time in Congo, the 3-month visa sells for $317 for single entry, and $350 for multiple entry.

There are other people who prefer to spend more time in Congo to learn about the culture and do a market study to do business. 6 months? It is $400 for a single entry . That is to say, once in the territory, it is not possible to make any other movements outside the country. But, in case of need, just pay $500 for the entrances and exits of your choice.

In addition to this visa category, the Democratic Republic of Congo also has established visa for foreign humanitarians, traders, missionaries which is directly granted in Kinshasa by the Managing Director of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM)
