The extremist threat is causing population displacement in north-west Benin. People are moving both from neighbouring countries, such as Togo and Burkina Faso, into Benin, and from one village to another within the country. In this episode of the Dialogue Migration podcast, produced with Jérémy Betica, the director of a local rural radio station in Tanguiéta – a town located 591 kilometres from Cotonou – we assess the situation of displaced people. We discuss The challenges they face, the impact of their displacement on the local area, the country and the West African sub-region are discussed. Measures needed to ensure the proper integration of displaced people are also touched.
