Context 

As a voice for advocacy and engagement, AfricTivistes has launched an information platform www.dialoguemigration.com to co-produce and disseminate verified, contextualised and circumstantial information on migration away from political divides and sensationalism. The platform aims to produce reliable and balanced information on migration, to create a space for information and dialogue on migration, to serve as a reference point for journalists and actors working on migration, to be a source of reference for individuals planning to migrate, to encourage respect for the human rights and dignity of migrants and to produce a narrative that is more respectful of migrants’ rights.

In addition to producing reliable and balanced information on migration, there will be a space on the website for fact-checking and dialogue on the issue. 

AfricTivistes is recruiting different profiles to produce content related to migration issues, coordinate the work and translate the content for the platform.

Applications 

AfricTivistes is seeking applications from seven (7) journalists/bloggers, one (1) fact-checking editor and one (1) translator.

Content producers, kindly send:

– a letter of motivation to the President of AfricTivistes

– a C.V;

– Two journalistic or blog productions (preferably on migration, development or human rights issues);

– at least one reference person and his/her contacts

– send your application to rh@africtivistes.org with the subject line ” Migration Dialogue – AfricTivistes Call for applications: Content Producer”.

Applicants for the position of Fact-checking Editor can send:

– a letter of motivation to the President of AfricTivistes

– a C.V;

– Three fact-checking pieces (preferably on migration, development or human rights issues).

– at least one reference person and his/her contacts

– Send your application to rh@africtivistes.org with the subject line “Migration Dialogue – AfricTivistes Call for applications: Fact-checking Editor”.

Translator (French-English/English-French), kindly send:

– a letter of motivation directed to the President of AfricTivistes;

– a C.V;

– at least 3 examples of his/her work in English and French (original text and translated text)

– Send your application to rh@africtivistes.org with the subject line “AfricTivistes Call for applications Migration Dialogue: Translator”.

NB:Interested candidates have until Friday 02 December 2022 at 00H GMT to submit their applications. 

Successful applicants will be notified on 9 December 2022

PS: Applications from content producers living in the target countries of the project (The Gambia, Guinea, Niger and Mauritania) will be prioritised.
