The Pas-de-Calais prefecture in France announced on Sunday October 8 that “a man was found lifeless on the beach at Merlimont“. Confirming the death, the Boulogne-sur-Mer public prosecutor’s office said that “the preferred hypothesis is that of a migrant”. This death comes a few days after that of a migrant woman of Eritrean origin found lifeless on a beach near Calais. The prefecture assures us that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of this death.
